Hey was just wondering where you can get the morning after pill in Cork? And how much would the trip and stuff cost?

I've moved your post to a new thread Mufasa. We prefer that posters start their own threads rather than tacking their issue onto the end of an existing thread.

    Thanks

In response to your question, you must go to your GP to get a prescription for the MAP, so your expenses will be whatever your GP charges plus about €12 for the pill itself. The pill should be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex, however taking it as soon as possible greatly increases its effectiveness.

It will cost you the price of a trip to a GP and the price for filling the prescription.

You can try contacting the Family Planning Centre on Tuckey Street but I don't know how likely you are to get an appointment within 72 hours.

Another option, if you are a university student, is to visit your college doctor. You will still have to pay for the prescription.

Be advised, that the MAP is most effective when taken within 72 hours of intercourse. Additionally, if you had unprotected sex, you might want to consider arranging an STI screen.

If you tell Tuckey St what the appointment is for when you're ringing they'll generally try to squeeze you in earlier rather than later. If you were asking Sunday lunchtime for that morning/night before, then you really want to phone first thing morning.
