All the new "scientific" types abound these days, and they all believe in evolution.

I have a question, do you honestly think you lot are the pinnacle of evolution? If you are, the previous models must have been some bunch of clowns.

Im pretty sure evolution would say that we're always adapting and changing so if you were to say we'd gotten to a point where we wont change anymore than you dont really believe in evolution!

I believe the humble woodlouse is the pinnacle of evolution as it hasn't evolved for millions of years.
In the meantime we're doing our best.

We are presently just another steeping stone stage on the path to further human characteristic progression.

Surely the whole point of evolution is that there is no pinnacle? It's a constant process of adaptation.

Oh it that right, and when was the last "great leap forward"?

Why Irish men have five fingers on each hand:

Paddy and Mick were picking spuds one day, Paddy lifted his head and said "ye know Mick, we are an innovative little country, we are educated. We can get f'ucked over by anyone and still believe it was all an accident. I think we need an extra finger to help us pick dese spuds".

Paddy Jr then had five fingers, he excelled at picking spuds and out breed the others.

    Not necessarily constant.

There's no GREAT leap..that's the point.
and why did you put "Great leap forward" in quotations? No one said that?

We've been getting progressively taller and taller down the last couple of millennia, with a taller body necessary to accomodate a larger brain, hence the reasons c-sections are becoming more popular.
This corresponds, today, with the emergence of the internet age with exponentially larger amounts of information available.
The next leap forward will be one of the mind where we start to circumvent the primitive circuitry and conditioned ,automatic, behaviour of the past.
Slagging us off ,because people are joking in your other thread ,is hardly evidence of the higher levels of consciousness that you have evolved to.

There is no pinnacle of evolution, humans are as evolved as any other creature on the planet. We are as evolved as slugs because we are here and surviving, and so are they.
