Hi guys. Have decided on getting my wife a canon 1000d camera for christmas. Also would like to get her a long range lens which goes with it. Any advice on the lense to get. Also anyone know the cheapest place to get these.. Am guessing most of u guys probably go online.. Cheers in advance..

After you try the Dublin shops try this link. They will courier to you and their shop is in Belfast. Always found them excellent to deal with over the phone.

On a different note, is your wife into photography? What type of camera does she currently have?

Nice as it is to get a surprise of a DSLR ..... Maybe it would be better to let her choose the Camera & Lenses herself as she is the one that is into Photography.

You could get her a Gift Voucher from somewhere like Gunns, which is generally considered the best bricks & mortar shop in Dublin, where they will also advise her as to the best equipment to suit her needs. You may save a little bit going other places but it can be a waste if you do not get what it is that she actually wants.
