On TG4 now. Expect Ballygunner to win by 5.

Ballygunner have the stars, but Cratloe look like a nice tidy little hurling side so far.

Cratloe are a younger team as well, lot of the Clare Under 21s on their team, they have been taking this match seriously as well, they've been off the beer for over a week now :D

They seem to have a lot of extra space, taking their scores well and the pitch is the site of the Munster Under 21 final.

Dirty pull by the Ballygunner midfielder there

Cratloe are really building up their wides

some bad wides alright, Paul Flynn still has some great touches, should be a good second half

7 points all at half time

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 7,849 Mod ✭✭✭✭suitcasepink

It's quite a dire match to be fair, the ground is terrible.
But in the last few games Ballygunner have played better in the second half, particularly in the last few minutes. *Fingers crossed*

Pitch is poor but it's as good as you'd expect in November

Rodge's brother (sorry had to :))

I think he's number 17 for Cratloe, the fella who started

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 7,849 Mod ✭✭✭✭suitcasepink

Lol Yeh I suppose, being bucketing rain here for the last few days too.

Ballygunner are disappointing though, they are well able to play better.

I'm listening to the Adare Newtown match while watching the Cratloe Ballygunner game on TG4 with the sound down. Cratloe look a very nippy side, the wet ground doesn't seem to suit them. That said, Ballygunner came back well after a bad start, but they are over-relying on Paul Flynn.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,028 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

Ballygunner look like a team that are expecting to win and waiting for it to happen, their striking is poor and they seem to be second to every ball, they are giving the Cratloe half backs way too much space

(8 points to 7 to Cratloe 7 minutes into second half for those who aren't watching it)

Seanie Collins is having a great game

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 7,849 Mod ✭✭✭✭suitcasepink

Agree with that on paper Ballygunner should be better.
Collins is causing trouble. Edit: Didn't see this was already posted

Could go either way this match. But would either of them beat Newtown The winners of the otehr match??

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,028 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

Ballygunner take the lead, I'd expect them to push on now, but you never know, I think whoever scores the first goal will win.

BallyG up by 2 now 12 to 10

  • Moderators, Education Moderators Posts: 7,849 Mod ✭✭✭✭suitcasepink

Nice cut, didn't know he could do them. 'O Sullivan always hit them.

    Ballygunner 13points Cratloe 11points
    Whats Tg4 showing after this??

    Ballygunner/Newtown final then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,949 ✭✭✭deisedude

Repeat of 2005 final which was a good evenly contested game. Should be interesting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,908 ✭✭✭Daysha

I was up at the rugby so I had to give this a miss, but nice to see another Waterford representative in a Munster club final.

Not sure what kind of chance we have against Newtown though. It should be a close game but we'll be going in as underdogs for sure.

    Sure are :)

On a side note, nice to RTE misspelling the clubs name on the Six-One news earlier

Ah I see. So what where you doing up in Dublin watching Rugby instead of supporting your local club?

I'm disgusted Daysha. Disgusted. My local team may be ****, and I may hate everyone on it and abuse them constantly, but I still go to all their games. :pac:

Ah sure Orizio you'd be the first to know that all Waterford people are only fairweather supporters anyway ;)

Nah in all seriousness, I was offered a free ticket so I was hardly gonna say no. I'm barely home once a month at this stage anyway, Dublin's where it's at now!
