Just as an FYI -I went to look at the car below last week, and put a deposit on it. Went away, did a check on it and it came back that there was outstanding finance on it. To cut a long story short, the dealer insisted to me that the finance was clear on 3 occasions, and only when I had the Cartell report in my hand did he back down and admit that there was indeed finance outstanding.

I got my full deposit back without any fuss, but it highlights the unscrupulous and unethical behaviour of the dealer.

I would hope that considering the car is re-advertised, that the finance has been cleared.

Im hoping they would have cleared it had you bought the car.

Is cartell 100% reliable in relation to finance info?

Mick - I rang Cartell, who rang the Finance company and then rang me back to confirm that the finance had not been cleared. That was good enough for me.

Also, in my opinion, a dealer should not have a car on the forecourt that has outstanding finance on it, and if they do, and everything is above board, I would have expected the dealer to tell me that there was finance outstanding, and confirm in writing that it would be cleared. And even at that, I would really really want to have the car to even go that far.

I've learnt a valuable lesson. Haven't bought a car yet, but now I ask the dealer first off if he will provide a Cartell report.
