It was a great night, pity Cullen wasn't there.

Congrats to all! You can't argue with many of those. Glad to see that common sense prevailed.

Great night allround. Great montage of live footage at the start of all the successes of the season, really showed what a great season we had. If you want passion for our sport all you had to do was listen to Sean Naughton's speech. He was very emotional and it was very motivational and the passion he had was amazing. He had no idea he was getting the award.

Jimmy McDonald is a charachter, great account of his Barcelona exploits. Can't believe Maeve Kyle is 82, what a lady. Olive's speech was great as was Derval. I think its a great sign of the year we had when you consider we had a male sprinter who ran 44., finished 6th in a global sprint final and yet didn't get an award and probably justifiably. As the winners said, it was an honour to win an award when you look at the calibre of athlete who got nominated. Saw a great photo being taken of Gillick sandwiched between Ronnie Delaney and Eamon Coghlan, 3 legends in one shot! Greg Allen was a class host and its easy for him because he loves the sport. You can understand Mary not being there with Euro Cross so close.

Finally, well done to Ferrybank on the club award, richly deserved. I was an adopted Ferrybanker for the night and it must be remembered it all started back when the street lights got turned and we had to climb the fences so we could do some hurdling in the dark;)

Last night are the nights that remind you how great our sport is.
