Range of Pressure Washer

Just wondering if anyone can tell me the range that a pressure washer would generally be affective to. I have dirt on my second floor windows but no ladder available, would the washer be affective with me standing on the ground or would I definitely need a ladder? Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

no u need to be within a metre or so. how bout a long handled brush or something?
