    Hi all

Just a quick one - I dont have broadband but want to get the latest iphone update. It's currently synced with my desktop at home. If I sync it with my laptop somewhere there is broadband and update to the latest software, then re-sync back at home with the desktop - will I be back to square one but just with updated software like I want? Will this work?

    Cheers

Find a link to download the latest iphone update (google it, it's an ipsw file), don't update in iTunes. Download the file where you have a BB connection.
Transfer the file to the desktop, open itunes & shift-click (PC) or option-click (Mac) the Restore or Update buttons in iTunes. A file dialog will open and let you choose the downloaded ipsw-file.

Your browser may change the ipsw-file into a zip-file when you download it. In that case, just rename it to end in .ipsw and iTunes will accept it.

Cheers - I actually had that done but thought it wasn't right when the file was actually a zip as opposed to an ipsw. Didnt realise that you just change the file extension
