Dont know if this could be classed as nostalgia/retro or not but what websites did you used to log onto that have been removed or taken down.

geocities used to be very popular in the 90s but has been dropped lately i read somewhere.

    any other examples.

The first messageboard website I ever came across was Rabbitboard.com. It was a gossip website and there was around 20 of us using it, and we all knew each other (not personally). Then it started attracting lots of spam so it was closed down, and I lost "good friends" - I was devastated! That was when my brother introduced me to Boards.ie. It was more complicated, but I eventually became used to it. (I still miss Rabbitboard tho - what a sad person I am!)

Remember those dancing hamsters? Hampsterdance.com I think it was - someone's made a copy of it here
Cat-scan.com where people used to scan their cats.
Groupiecentral.com where groupies used to dish the dirt on rock bands.

I used to love (and contribute to) the OLGA. Tab sites just aren't the same any more.

thats the truth, my browser goes ballistic when I log onto them, applets, jokes, ads. and that one with the guitar pro software that you need. I haven't been on a tab site in ages..

www.thesite.com (now redirects something completely different)

One of the very first sites I went onto way back in school. Used to be on CNBC or Super Channel, they had a very modern (for the time!) 3d animated guy co-presenting, was really cool :)

    It is what it's.
