Employment Issue

    Hi Guys,

I applied for the Gardai in January 2008.
I pasted all interviews in April 2008.

I rang today about my application and they told me they sent out a letter to me in April 2009 to my previous home address.

I lived in that previous home address till around August 2008 and notified the Garda Applications office that I had left that address and any letters should be sent to my parents house as I left to travel.

I asked the guy at the applications office what it said on the letter but he said he could not discuss it over the phone.
He said he has sent me a copy of the letter that was sent to me and that I should get it during the week.
I have been waiting almost two years for this opportunity and this comes as a big blow.
I rang on previous occassions to confirm the change of address while following my application.

I don't know where I stand on this issue.

I don't know either but I think it is a good idea to always use the family home address on any important forms/documents if you don't own your own place.

I'm sure if you were successful they would have more of an effort to get in touch with you. My two cents worth, hopefully i'm wrong though. If you don't get anything in the post by Wednesday afternoon id ring again.

Ya I know but the fact of the matter is that I did call them up and notify them of a change of address and followed up on my application on two occassions to confirm my change of address to put my mind at rest.

I'm annoyed that there wasnt even a phonecall or email.

But why would they keep me waiting a year to say I was unsuccessful? That would be a bit harsh..

Yes it would but as i said hopefully that is not the case. As someone has already mentioned i use your parents address for anything important in the future.
