Saeco Talea - Coffee Very Weak

My mother got one of these machines and the coffee from it was great so I decided to follow suit. I couldn't afford a brand new one, so I got a factory re-conditioned one (with Saeco warranty).
Right from the start the coffee hasn't been as good as my mother's one. With hers I can make a ~200ml that is good and strong, with a thick crema on top. However with mine after only 3 or 4 seconds the stream becomes watery, the flow rate very fast and the result is undrinkable. The only coffees I can make with it are lattes etc which only require a small strong shot.
I'm just wondering if I replaced the rubber seals around the brew group would this sort it out. Anyone any ideas?

I'm not familiar with the machine, is it bean to cup? It sounds like it's not dosing enough coffee. Is there any adjustment on this?

Its a very pricey bean-to-cup. All the settings are turned up to make it as strong as possible.

What happens if you select an espresso - volume & time to pour?

Volume is set in the options to the cup size I have. Pours way too quick and doesnt have a strong crema at all.

One of the disadvantages of the bean to cups I'm afraid. It really sounds like the factory settings may be askew though. Give them a shout if it's still under warranty, even if it's passed.

Can you adjust the grind, would grinding finer not help?

ensure the settings are the exact same as on your mother's. If the coffee isn't the same then the fact that it's a "factory re-conditioned one" becomes the obvious problem.
One thing bean-to-cup machines can do is consistency so if it's in PMO you should be getting reasonably decent drinkable coffee. Obviously not top-notch but certainly drinkable.

Hi, Did you ever get your machine sorted? Ive worked on these machines. straight away it sounds as if the grinder is not grinding enough. i mean your coffee is too course. the finer the coffee is the slower the water will flow picking up a better extraction. If you want you can p.m me and i can let you know of somewhere in dublin you can get it fixed. as it is just an adjustment and no parts needed, it shouldnt cost that much.
