    Just an idea I had.

It seems that due to the astronomical amount of apps available it's difficult to know which ones to use or try.
So I was thinking that a sticky thread where people could post recent apps they have downloaded and used, with a brief description, would be a good idea?

Well the latest I've got is called VMC Settings, from Cydia.
I bring my iTouch to the gym all the time, however the only downside for me was the lack of physical buttons to press to skip a song or go back to the previous song played. Trying to unlock and use the touch screen on the touch while jogging at pace is quite difficult, so I wondered was there any way to use the Volume U/Down buttons for controlling the iPod app during playback. Lo and behold this great piece of software has changed my gym experience for the better! Highly recommended for anyone in the same boat as me!

    I just got:

    LC Papers (for my sister)
Eirtext Pro (don't need it, but I loved Eirtext so much I figured I'd shell something out for it. Only fair to Mr. Boyne)
    Flight Watch
    Rope n' Fly 2
    Pointer (for powerpoint)
    Nasa App (looks good)
    Relative Pitch (for musicians)
    Flight Control (deadly game)
Dessid (been meaning to for ages)
    AerBrowse
    Entertain Me

All good. Now to fix this flippin' iPod problem so I can use them...

Downloaded LinkyBlinky the other day. It's a silly little app that allows you to type in a message and then the message scrolls across your screen like a billboard add. It's free too.

I actually couldn't get eirtext to work on my iTouch. It was the free version unless there is a paid better version?

Logmein for iphone is a great App for remote access to your P.C .

There's been alot of development gone into it , it amazes me how easy it is to control (remotely) anyone of the 18 P.C's I have setup , all from my iPhone.

Logmein is brilliant. Uses it all the time at work on the pc. Haven't got it on the ipod yet. I think it was too expensive at the time, think it was e24 or something? Very handy though!

+1 for Logmein, 24eur, used it with my Mac and laptops for a while so progression to iphone was easy. Interface is fantastic, great for managing torrents on Vuze :)

Dublin Bikes, Free, use it almost daily, unfortunately its no longer available, abikenow from jcdecaux is pretty lame. It is now available via the Layer app, but that always crashes on me.

Eurosport, Free, best sports news app, interface is beautiful, you can also customise what sports you want to see.

MobileRSS, Free & Paid, great iphone interface for Google Reader, very intuitive.

nru, Free, Compass app that guides you to Restaurants and pubs, brought to you by lastminute.com, tried it in London and Dublin, haven't USED it yet though.

pic2shop, Free, barcode reader app that gives you the best price online (Amazon) for a product, i.e. DVD.

Quickoffice, 8eur, handy for viewing, storing AND editing Word, Excel and PDF files on iphone, has PIN protection also which is nice if someone is having a gawk at your phone.

Games-wise I won't say too much but here is what I like:
Action/Adventure: Worms, Duke Nukem, Civilisation, Monkey Island, Beneath a Steel Sky
    Puzzle/Brain: Gears, Flood-it, Scrabble & Boxed in

Just downloaded song summoner from square enix. Just began playing. You make troops by selecting a song in your library and itll make a unit with that song. How cool is that? Lol
