No Farrell? No harm. New one looks alright. Although David is no Pat Kenny.

I just copped who the new girl, Becs, from Dan & Becs fame. Show less political than last week. Same humour content though. Little.

Haha, true. Whats the deal with the pipe?

Maxwell just wasted 5 minutes of my life with that boring, shit joke

Did they mention anything about Pat Kenny from Monday night? I missed the first half.

We should take this moment to have a minute's silence for Irish comedy............................................................................................

    P.s. Maxwell is a gimp.

Not that I noticed. Truth be told I was laughing more at the frontline.

I wouldn't throw Holly out of my Panel!

This is awful. Even the once-good Colin Murphy is reduced to cringe-worthy nonsense. The bloke beside Maxwell is unbelievably unfunny, where do they get these guys? And he's laughing at all his own jokes, along with the cans they've used to replicate an audience.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,497 ✭✭✭omahaid

Part one over, missus says "meh". Me, I say poor so far.

am stuggling here with panel tonight, david looks lost at times, maxwell is so unfunny, whos your one beside colin murphy, and wheres delamare, he's the best thing about the panel since dara o'brein left

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 452 ✭✭Aldito

Oh man he's pathetic, so embarrassing to even watch. How do people like him think they're good enough to be a comedian in the first place?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,497 ✭✭✭omahaid

    Ah, Pat gets a mention!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,988 ✭✭✭Bondvillain

    Just switched on the TV.

Can anyone clarify who the annoying unfunny arsepiece* beside the other annoying unfunny arsepiece** is, and why in the name of jaysus he's on my telly, not only being an utterly unfunny arsepiece, but having the gall to look smugly satisifed at his level of arsepiecery?

(*Hipster beard. nasty yellow t shirt)

    (** andrew maxwell)

    Dermot Whelan, he's atrocious...

He is truly awful. Embarrassed for him, to be honest.

I've just looked him up. He's a 98FM breakfast dj. I can only imagine how hilarious that show is. Surely, he's not a comedian?!?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,497 ✭✭✭omahaid

Chris Eubank should get a job, he's a lot funnier that the rest (he's not that funny though).

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,497 ✭✭✭omahaid

How cheesy is it when someone says their mentors are Gandhi and Mandela?

Missed that. Who said it, Dermot Whelan? Would have thought his mentors are Colm & Jim Jim.

It's dreadful stuff. Maybe it's cos I'm older and wiser but Irish comedy in the 90s seemed so much better. The End, Apres Match and even Don't Feed the Gondolas. Maybe tbey were crap too and i was just a student tw@t!

    worst ever

Jesus that was horrible Andrew Maxwell is really really bad he gets more and more deluded and self obsessed as the years roll on. Why was he sucking on a pipe, i know why, he must've thought he looked quirky and eccentric, he failed miserably just like one of his tragically painful jokes.

Oh by the way, to add insult to injury on the ad break there was an ad for a new show starring... wait for it.... Dave McSavage!!!! What in christs name is going on at RTE, they're really raising the bar here for the worst run of comedy shows prodused by any TV station ever, it's really depressing that utterly unlikable people like this are getting money thrown at them to produce dross like this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

That was fairly bad again. A slight improvement on last week, but thats only cos McWilliams was obviously told to shut up. The lack of economic & political sh!te we had to endure last week, not being there this week helped a bit.

But that Dermot Whelan is horribly unfunny, Maxwell is just too annoying these days (even tho i used to like him) Murphy did ok, but doesn't seem to be too bothered with the whole thing anymore as he can see its on its last legs. Holly was the usual token quiet girl, but a lot less annoying and better to look at than Mairead Farrell!

But overall very very few moments that actually were genuinely funny. Sad to see it go this way, as a few years back on a Monday night on RTE2 when Dara was hosting it, it really was actually funny and was a must see every week.

I was a bit dissapointed, when they started talking about the Pat Kenny/Heckler thing they focussed more on how big an eejit the heckler was and making fun of him rather than addressing the issue of what he was saying i.e Pat Kenny and his RTE cohorts getting paid crazy wages.

I think they're covering their own backs and mega RTE wages by ignoring that aspect. The heckler guy obviously has a bit of a screw loose, yeah fine so do a lot of people, but what he said was 100% true and its just typical when the little guy stands up to speak suddenly he's a racist and a madman. And whats that got to do with anything? What he said was true.

Btw, Maxwell is an overbearing loudmouth..

Absolutely awful muck. Close your eyes and it's a breakfast show from a student radio station. I haven't watched this show in years, sorry i turned it back on again tonight. That clergy/aliens joke...ugh..bored the hole off me. More laughs in Oireachtas Report.

I wonder the same thing. Is there something in the Evian in the RTE canteen? Or is there some ancient contractual obligation written in Ogham on stone tablets stating "the funnee-makers must always be kept in coin and pigs, lest the ravens desert Montrose". Seriously, it seems if you're any sort of a "comedian", you almost automatically get your own show on RTE in recent years. Guess they come cheap. Fair City has more comedic value (albeit unintentional) than the rest of RTEs comedy output put together.

no, the end was brilliant. it's where barry murphy started apres match. i'll never forget the competition to win a box of broken tiles. just before police squad.

The painful thing is, they let this sh*te go on, but they don't put The Hardy Bucks on tv... and that was hilarious.

The other goons were lapping it up like it was the greatest monologue ever told.

that joke was brilliant, although he did stretch it beyond what it needed to be stretched, mcwilliams needs to do more then just ignore whats happening and read the autocue.

i think some peolpe don't approve of maxwell social and political viewpoint, how can you not appreciate that he goes and looks up the facts and figure to back up his rants.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34 redvee81

at least mairead farrell wasnt on it..........painful and embarrasing to women everywhere.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 94 ✭✭mbarosin

Anyone else notice a bit of animosity between Maxwell and McWilliams?
There was definitely some snide comments from McWilliams towards him. McWilliams was also getting pissed off when they kept making masturbation jokes.

The show has gone downhill so much, just look at the old clips with Dara O'Briain on youtube.

Maxwell's social and political viewpoint is almost as contrived as that pipe he was sucking on last night.

Just watched it there, so did anyone else like the "Andrew Maxwell Does Politics" show?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,547 ✭✭✭Agricola

I dont know what the problem is with Maireid Farrell. They have to have a token woman on the panel, so who do they get? How many Irish female comediens could they get on the show from the approximately 2 that there are in the country!

Farrell appeals to me for 2 reasons. 1) She seems duurty and 2) shes not uptight or trying too hard to be funny. You dont hear her laughing hysterically after every piss poor joke either.
Compared to some of the women whove been on the panel, shes not the worst by a long shot.

Have totally lost interest since Dara O Briain left..
Quality of show has suffered greatly.....
The show is still riding on the success he created....
    Last Legs me thinks
