    Hi all,
Just a quick question regarding BFG's. I'm interested in buying one for skirmishing, tbh its more cost effective than the Thunder B alternative.

Unfortunatly AFAIK i'll need a firearms licence to purchase blank ammunition for it. Is there any other restrictions on them? How likely would it be that the powers that be actually grant a licence for the ammunition

Sorry if all this has been answered before, couldn't find anything bar some small posts!

    Thanks:D

no idea about the license, but i would imagine that most site would not allow it use, even when traveling within the uk they seem to be tightly control and banned at all the events i;ve visited, there use seems to be manly routed in the professional training field

During a briefing in the UK last weekend we were told BFG's are allowed on site, just not in tight confined spaces, was odd considering the main area of use was a shopping centre area :D
At sixty quid for the actual grenade, its gonna be hard to not get one :P

You wouldnt be allowed use it for skirmishing because it is classed fireworks and you would need to be licenced to operate fireworks in Ireland, in the UK you just have to be over 18 or it could be 16, something like that, no licence required in the UK. AFAIK you have to do a course first in fireworks handling and safety.

AFAIK they are legally classed as firearms, at the very least the blank ammo is restricted you'd be well off asking in the shooting forum, or pm HRTA here, he has some at his site and knows what you need to legally own them.

I know the legislation is changed regards the BF pistols so I would imagine it's the same with the grenades, now your required to licience the BF dvices.
