Fat Princess Demo on PSN?

    Hi guys,

This was meant to be released as a demo about 2 or 3 weeks ago. however, on the day of demo release, I've noticed that I now have two icons for FP in the PSN store, both of which want €15 off me.

At first I thought this was just a mistake on SCEE's part so I waited a week or two. The demo still hasn't appeared and I still see two icons to purchase Fat Princess. I assume I'm not the only one?

And I'm not interested in downloading the demo from the US store. I've already done that and it plays black and white on my SD TV.

You really need a new TV. The last time I saw a TV that didn't display NTSC I fell off my dinosaur in shock.

That is absolutely irrelevant and doesn't answer my original question. For your information, the SD tv is in the bedroom and I don't need to update it.

Back to my original question... anyone?

Yep, same problem here. I thought it was pretty annoying, since they are already overcharging Europeans by 2€, and then couldn't even release the demo.

2€ might not be much, but I haven't bought the game yet because of it. Battlefield 1943: $14.99 = €12.99 - bought it, Fat Princess: $14.99 = €14.99 - no thanks.

Have you tried searching for it using the search bar in the PSN store. The store is badly laid out and some games like Final Fantasy VII aren't in the menus unless you search for it.

I have, on the "day of release" and days/weeks after. FP Demo was never released here even though it was advertised as released on the PS3 Euro Blog. It is obvious SCEE fooked up as FP is listed twice on the PSN Shop. One of these should be the demo as the second one appeared on the store the day the demo was "released".

However, I've not seen ONE post anywhere on the interweb from joe public of SCEE or anyone acknowledging this.

Probably because the majority of Joe Publics on gaming forums are Americans or Europeans that have a US account for demos and a TV that was bought after the Berlin wall fell that doesn't have a name like "Sorny" or "Panaphonics" :pac:

Seriously though, getting a TV capable of NTSC (doesn't have to be HD, a newer SD one would do, Argos probably have them for €40) would solve all your problems and allow you to play US and Japanese demos

I'm in a grumpy mood today so I apologise in advance....

I'm NOT interested in opinion but fact, in this matter.
I don't need to purchase a new tv for the bedroom as very little watching gets done in there and the TV is fine.
If I DO buy a new TV, you can bet your ass away that it will be a fookin good one, but that is not the issue at hand.

What I AM interested in, is discussing my original issue which is, more or less: Have SCEE acknowledged that they fooked up the FP Demo release and is there a new release date.

Dont think they have admitted it and probably never will, it would mean they have to apologise for the several hundred other problems with the EU PSN.

I know you don't want to keep talking about the TV but doe sit have a Scart socket?

Yeah, that's me. Should I start it again for this thread? I already thought of it before you came around :)

The TV does have Scart but again.... *grumpy me*

...getting the US version working is not what I want and I won't spend any time on it.

I know SONY will probably never admit to the fact but I just thought someone, somewhere, with their ear to the ground, might have heard that SCEE were going to change the second FP to the Demo at some time.

I was told once as a very rough guide that if you have a Scart then NTSC should be doable for your TV but obviously it is not an exact science or its complete bull to begin with.

I swear I saw that demo there at one stage but as you say I didn't click through. I found the game disappointing. I can't believe BF1943 cost me less than FP tbh.

in the back of my head, that's sort of what I was looking for. I refuse to pay an expensive[in PSN terms], over inflated price [$1<>€1 etc] for a game that I can't try out.

I've purchased many, many games from PSN [and that hasn't been updated in a long time] and if a game is around the €5 mark, I wouldn't think twice about buying it. Guess I just won't be purchasing FP.

The idea is to capture theprincess but people are more interested in killing each other and getting kills for their scores instead. Its really messy and games are too long for me.

I would have had less complaints at a 10e price point.
