It's also worth noting that if you're planning an upgrade it's prob a good idea to go to the Building & Upgrading part of this forum.

This card requires quite a bit of power, reletive to other gpus and will only work with some pc's

Hmmm toying with picking up a second one of these and going with a Crossfire set up. 75 quid is **** all like.

I'm wondering if you need a HDTV monitor for it to be of any use?

Depends on what you want to use it for- I use one for data crunching, not a bad card at all...... Personally I'd hang on for a budget DX11 card- they should be around in the next month or two.

tried to order but even though they say they deliver to Ireland you can't pick Ireland at the delivery stage and you have to put in a zip code :(

You'd want a 22" monitor to be getting your moneys worth out of the card.

I have a 22" monitor and this cards little bro , the 4850, and it has maxed out all games I've tried (bar crysis, where I had to drop the settings to high to keep framerates playable all the time).

EDIT: I bet the thread title looks like a maths equation to some people! What are the variables "delivery" and "Ebuyer" though?

You either have to use "Google Checkout" or phone them.

I'd phone when since I've had tried to order stuff three times over the last two weeks due to either Google or them fecking up.

I've ordered stuff to Ireland off Ebuyer before.

Didn't have a great experience however; they gave me a different version monitor to the one I ordered and then wouldn't allow me to switch it for the right one.

Sounded like a nokia phone to me. That was an annoying waste of a click.

    Edit the title appropriately.

Got a 500w pwrsply would it be worth my while getting this card?
Also would this be the best card you could get for 100e?

If anyone is of thinking of using this with a HTPC and wants to watch BBCHD, don't. All ATI cards have trouble decoding BBCHD and not fix in sight.

Why is that? It's a bargain for £75, but it's hardly going to blow away modern games with high settings @ 1920x1080.

It will do with most of them.
I think it's a bad idea for this to be posted here, people if you want to know what gpu to get ask on the building & upgrading forums.
Yes this is a good price for what it is, but this is not for everyone/most people

Sorry for the ambiguous thread title, was in a rush. Now I cant edit title so its going to stay ambiguous and trap unwary bargain hunters.

From ebuyer support some time back "the dummy post codes are REP123 or REPIRE".

You'll really need to get a new PSU as well- depending on the other components in your PC...... By the time you've bought a new graphics card along with a new PSU- it wouldn't cost all that much more to buy a new PC of a higher spec than your current machine?

You rekon a new PSU huh?
Damn it anyway, it's a vicious cycle with PC's isn't it.
    Cheers for the heads up.

he should be fine with a 500w psu as ATI recommend a 600w for crossfire

It all depends on what his current components are- my 4870 requires 2 power inputs- and I've clocked it at 180 watt under load. Also- another concern- if its 4-5 years old- what is the PSU- is it purely ATX or does it also have a SATA rail etc.....?
