An American colleague is visiting Dublin for the first time next week. She's arriving late Saturday, so does anyone have any suggestions for things to do on Sunday, and evenings during the week? I was thinking of bringing her to Newgrange on Sunday, but the weather looks a bit iffy and I don't fancy hanging around in the rain, so more indoorsy suggestions would be welcome.

Bring her to Kilmainham Gaol - it really is one of the best things in Dublin to see.
The National Museum is free and is always worth the visit.
    If she likes Art.
    The National Art Gallery.
    The Hugh Lane Gallery.

If she's into literature how about the Writers Museum. It's a really good museum but does have a hefty entry fee.

Johnny foxes might be worth a spin up to in the evenings for a bite to eat

The IFI is often a good place to visit in the evening. You don't have to see a film.

Howth is gorgeous, if you drive you should take her for a spin out there, the view is really nice from the summit and the road going up to the summit

OP I presume your limited to the greater Dublin region? A greek friend of mine was over the last weekend, he had worked here before but didnt leave Dublin as we were pretty busy all the time he was here. You could take a trip to Glendalough on Sunday and then up to Johnnie Foxers for dinner?

HA!! But the Howth idea is good.

You could do the Dart thing, out to Howth, feel the seals, oysters and white wine, dinner in the Oarhouse, then some Guinness in the bloody stream.

The winter series is on, all the yachts will be coming in at about 13.00hrs... the week before last the races were abandoned, two lasers on the rocks and yachts having big difficulties getting in to the harbour... Great fun.

Come to Ireland, grope our wildlife! Bord Failte should really use that ;)

Anyway, thanks all for the suggestions, will pass them on and see what she fancies. The Dublin Events site is interesting as well.
