    Hi all,
I have 2 FTA receivers and up until the last few days they were going ok, but for the last few days I have noticed a lot of picture break up like as if the dish was moving, but it is allright as I have checked it. Has anyone else been having the same problem or could it be my LNB is done for?
    All help appreciated...thanks

As pointed out many many times here picture breakup is usually dish alignment, lnb or a cable issue. In your case though if its happening on both receivers you can pretty much narrow it down to lnb or alignment with alignment being the most likely culprit.

Probably LNB-as the dish and lnb have not moved...time to buy a quad lnb I think..thanks Tony

For what its worth, I had a good deal of picture breakup last year, especially during windy weather.

I thought that the dish may have got loose but it seemed fine when I checked,

Eventually had to get SKY out. The guy ran his checks & everything seemed fine, Then the wind picked up & the picture broke up.

Believe it or not, SKY Guy spotted a tree a the end of my garden swaying in the wind.

Next day, got a friend with a chainsaw to lop about 10 feet off the tree.

    Problem solved!!! :)

Heavy rain in last few days is causing rain fade (your signal is good enough in fine weather but drops below the minimim required in heavy rain)

As pointed out the dish position need to be checked. Very minor adjustment required.

Do you know if its eurobird or astra channels that are being affected or both?

Both Astra and Eurobird-but all has been ok since after the original post.It never seems to be affected during heavy rain or strong winds, but I will keep an eye over the weekend as the weather is going to be very wet and strong winds. There is nothing like trees or anything else blocking the line of sight of the dish either and I have checked the tightness of all the fittings on the dish and all seem ok. Is it possible that it was some other kind of "interference" ?
    Thanks for your help all...:D

How did you check it? Just by looking at it or did you connect a meter to it?

Sorry snaps, Im not that savvy...I used the sat-finder I have and Just checked it by visual and checked all the nuts and bolts and the F-connectors.Plus the LNB seems "visually" ok and does not seem to have moved in the holder as it is as tight as always was.
    Thanks
