Acer Windows 7 Upgrade

    Upgraded my Acer Aspire to Windows 7 yesterday. The OS looks fantastic and works really well. However I dont think Acer has the correct Audio drivers out for my particular laptop. The sound is crackling alot and you just cant listen to anything.

    So its back to Vista for me in the morning.

    Have you tried running windows update. The correct drivers might be on that.

    Yes. Tried that yesterday but still no joy. Its weird because everything else seems to work. Ill run it again now and see but I doubt it will make a difference.

    Actually when I was installing the upgrade it did give me an option to do a completely fresh install on Windows 7. Maybe I should do that to see what happens?

    Try hooking it up to an external speaker or headphones just to make sure it's not the speakers.

    A clean install is generally better.
