You will have to setup a business bank account to lodge the cheques.

before your bank will open a (current) business account you will have to provide a copy of your business registration as received from the CRO to the bank. Bring this with you when you go to open the account in whichever branch you choose once the a/c is up and running after a few days you can lodge your cheques.

you should get a fee free account for a year, depends on the bank and what services you require, call around and compare offerings

I done BOI, AIB and Ulster banks looking for a Business startup Acc.
Went with BOI in the end. seems to be a much better option tbh and rates seem better with them.

I got a 2-year free business account with Ulster bank.

@ OP, AIB are also doing a 2 year free banking and free online banking.

@ tombull, what swayed it with you to go with AIB over the others?

I initially opened with Bof I after it taking them 3 attempts to finally print my name on cheque books correctly (might not seem important, but there are people who would see this rightly or wrongly as lack of care), plus having tried 3 times to avail of their free offer of an accountants advice (this was last year) went to Ulster bank.
Gave me a business card which gives a certain amount like a debit card. Full amount has to be paid 10th of following month but NO INTEREST:)
Since then I asked for short term overdraft as Google billed me € 300.00 plus more than they should have, Ulsterbank gave me sum required and then offered me an overdraft.
Service following one or two teething problems I now find is super. Have a business account manager who is very good. There is two business account managers in the branch who are always approachable.
