I got mine fixed in a company in a business park off the M50, can't remember the name but I ended up getting a new one soon afterwards. I think they replaced the hard drive but it failed again for reasons unknown.

What I'm saying is be careful how much you pay to get it 'fixed' because getting a new one might be a better option. It sucks because my iPod was relatively new. The new one is now on the blink. I only have it 2 years.
