A few questions on NTL

Hey guys, just a couple of questions about NTL that someone who has subscriptions with them might be able to answer really quickly.

    Thanks, it is hugely appreciated!!

We have NTL analogue in our house, but we also have the full Sky Digital package and Sky Plus in one room, our phone and broadband are through Eircom.

Going by the prices offered for new customers and their diamond deal we reckon we could save nearly 900 euro a year if we dropped the movies and moved everything to NTL with NTL HD in one room, NTL Digital in another and then the phone and broadband.

    The couple of questions:

    1. Are we eligible for the NTL deal at all? It says new customers only, but we do have an analogue subscription with them. If we aren't eligible is it possible to cancel our current analogue subscription and reapply as a new customer?

    2. If we get the deal which includes NTL Digital HD and Multiroom, will we get our Sky Sports package in both rooms, or will it just be in one?

    3. What is the phone setup with NTL? Does it go through your phoneline or does it go through their cables? Presumably if it goes through their cables all the phone points in the house are redundant and we have to use their cordless handsets? Also what is the quality of their phone service like? The free calls to the UK would be particularly handy for us.

    4. Finally, just do you have any other thoughts or comments on the NTL service? Are these good prices likely to sky rocket a few months into our contract? It looks like that Diamond Offer might be for a limited time...

    Cheers!!

    1. I may be wrong but I think they mean new digital customers.

    2. You get the same channels on all your boxes.

    3. The service goes through the tv cable your phone point is on your modem.
if you know what you are doing you can extend phone wire around the
house and you can pretty much use any phone not just cordless.

    4. With the Internet the days of high price phone calls seem to be in the
    past.
When I got the phone service Irish numbers where the only free ones the
package has become better value since I got it.

The Internet and phone are well worth it plus throw in the TV and the package is a must.
