I want to buy a laptop from Dell outlet, the refurbished ones, should I get one with Windows 7 preinstalled with a lower spec or should I get one with Vista but it has a higher spec.

Think the main differnce is the 2 MB cache, does this affect the performance much?

This is the spec of the Windows 7 one:

That looks okay and I'd certainly prefer 7 over Vista. What's the spec on the other one?

The performance of the T4300 and T6500 are pretty similar, according to the PassMark benchmarks, so it comes down to the battery type, OS and price that are the deciding factors.

The only graphics options available on the Inspiron 1545 is the Intel 4500MHD and the ATI 4330. While the ATI, as you can see from the benchmarks, is more graphically capable, neither are geared towards gaming as such, so you may wish to make your decision on other factors.

In addition, I can't see whether the Windows 7 laptop has the same graphics capabilities as the Vista laptop, but, with that said, I'd recommend going with the Windows 7 laptop, as it's cheaper and has a bigger battery.
