We'd had some discussion on last months thread (here).
Books for this month have been suggested so I hope no-one minds if I go ahead and start the thread to choose the book for November.
I'll include a poll and here are the books with links to easons.

    An Education by Lynn Barber
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
    Regeneration by Pat Barker
    Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

Do you post your views online or do you all meet up to discuss the book? Its a really good read by the way.

    Did you like it Malari?
I gave up after page 60 or thereabouts :o (not something I normally do), I really found it a chore, I didn't care for any of the characters.
Anyhow I haven't much to add, hope others got on better :p

    P.S Happy New Year:)

If I remember page 60 in my copy was right in the middle of the hot and steamy bit!:p

I finished it, but didn't like it too much. I couldn't get a grip on the main character and I found that I knew him less as the book went on. He seemed completely non-empathetic. Everything he did seemed unexpected, as the writing didn't describe his character very well, I thought.

Wouldn't go back to another Faulks book I'm afraid. Very disappointing!
