cancelling sky

I've had sky+ for years now. I foolishly signed up to sky multiroom two months ago to use on an old box in the kitchen. I've decided now that i want to cancel everything. (Am fed up with repeats, adverts etc, etc and also the finances have changed like most of us).

Rang sky. They said they could cancel the original sky+ sub, but would have to stick with the 2nd one (on a full sub basis) for 10 more months. Effectively cancelling the multiroom sub.

Now I never signed any contract for the multiroom - just ordered it on phone and rang them when card arrived. So what would happen if I just cancelled direct debit. They'd switch me off eventually, but what do they do after that?? I won't be going back to them so that won't be a prob. What do they do in these cases..... Will I have debt collectors banging on me door?

    thanks

I'm sure I will be corrected if I am wrong, but I believe that constitutes a verbal contract.

maybe so... but does anyone know what sky's policy is to pursue outstanding debts?
