Bicep injury diagnosis please!!

    Hi,

I'm a first time poster on this board. I'm really seeking an answer to a speculative question more in hope than expectancy. Maybe some guys with more experience of workout-related injuries can help.

I work out regularly to try and keep in shape. I don't lift huge weights but I'm 13stone, 6ft tall and bench 90kg.

Recently I've had a problem with my right bicep. This occurred initially after curling more than I had done previously. The next morning I had pain in the part of my bicep muscle nearest the elbow and found I had no power in the arm (I couldn't lift even a full coffee pot). I thought that was a bit strange but I laid off the weights for a few weeks and it did improve.

Now, six weeks on, the muscle is still sore in the same area when I lift and the day after. However, the most noticeable symptom is that I can't flex my right bicep properly, the outside half especially. I can flex to some extent but can't make it as taught as the left bicep which never occurred before. It is almost as if the main mass of the muscle has moved in towards my body, ie. to the inside of the arm.

My guess, based on an extensive search, is that I've partially torn a tendon near the elbow but this is speculation and I've no previous experience of injury to my arm.

    I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

    Hi There

It is against the forum charter and also you really should not seek a diagnosis for any kind of medical/physical issue on the internet.

The best advise I can give you is to visit your GP or a good Physio and seek professional advice. Also don't train while you are injured.

    Best Of luck,

    M
