A new eBay reporting annoyance

If you've reported an item or seller on eBay recently you'll notice that eBay have extended what seems to be their scam cover up policy by no longer including the item number or seller ID when you tick the send copy to my email box. So you report an item add it to my watch list and if eBay delete the listing you have no reference to the scam unless you go to the bother of making copies of the listing which is more work than most people can be bothered to do.

Congratulations eBay on another policy that covers up crooked dealing on your website and attempts to hide info about fraudulent sellers from the buying public.

Add that to the list of other Reporting annoyances that include....

Clicking the report link takes you to a new page so you might loose sight of the page you are reporting (minor but easily fixed if you wanted to).

Having to log into the co.uk site (if logged into .ie) to make reports (adds to the effort involved).

Having a stupid list of pull downs for reports that make little sence, make it difficult to find the option you require and is worded to make it as difficult as possible to find the correct option if it exists at all.

Ignoring reports that don't exactly fit the pull down report option criterior.

I find that the worst of all their systems. Nothing there makes sense, and there is not "other" box.

Even if the report does conform to the limited options, I'm not convinced they do anything but ignore it anyway.

    +1

I reported this (HP DANIEL m220 FLASH MEMORY PEN DRIVE 64GB)
when it was first listed and even provided supporting evidence that there is no such item (HP don't make one) bit its still there and one three has been sold since my report.

But now its been reported here on boards.ie I guess it will get pulled by the end of the day ;););)

I reported an illegal copy of a ebook on sale, and the seller had loads of other illegal ebooks too. Had no reply, I contacted the author since he owns a forum where I am a member, he emailed me saying he was on the case, but I did check later and 10 copies were sold in the meantime.

I check now and it is still on sale! I reported it over 2 months ago

Just checked this (HP DANIEL m220 FLASH MEMORY PEN DRIVE 64GB) again and I now see that 5 people are happy to buy one without googling for further information, reported it again, not sure why I bothered?

My guess is that if you haven't bid then and report "You suspect that a listing is fraudulent (you didn't bid)" they take no notice of you.

As some listings get pulled soon after being reported here I thought the HP DANIEL m220 FLASH MEMORY PEN DRIVE 64GB would be gone by now?

I reported a guy selling MP3 music that there's no way he owns. Claims they're in public domain but it's all wrestling music that's obviously copyrighted. He's got a cute little disclaimer pleading innocence and that he's not breaking any Ebay policies. Emailed the wrestling company, no reply, doubt they care, doubt ebay care.

Reported a fake guitar once, Ebay said only the copyright holder can report it (or something to that effect) so I emailed Gibson and they replied to me saying they didn't give a toss (or something to that effect).
