A friend told me that she went around the usual shops in Dublin and found "the dress", she took the make, size, name of designer and then went on the net. She found it in the states and even with shipping costs, it still worked out as over half cheaper. Your sis might not have to go to America, she could try that first....

My friend did this too and ordered from houseofbrides.com. She needed to get it pressed after it arrived but saved about a grand doing it that way!

I'm not sure if it's any help, but my cousin got her dress in a shop in Dublin and they ordered her dress from Spain - it was cheaper than going to/getting it shipping from America.

My cousins dress was by Pronovias

Although, of course it depends on who and where the dress is coming from, not all dresses are cheaper to order/ship in from abroad.

But my st patrick dress online from the states. Was quoted 1500 hundred here, paid 990 from RK Bridal.

Jay bridal is another site I think you can get a good price from....

Hope that helps.Let me know if you need any other info

I tried on dress in town and bought through http://gownsales.com/
They were quick to deliver and saved well over a grand going this route. If your sister is interested in any of the designers they stock and can find a shop in Ireland to try it on I would recommend them.
(BTW - if you ask they will mark the dress as a sample and at a lower price so you wont have to pay tax).
