sounds like it would be a bit of craic if you've nothing else on, especially in winter if courses are closed. Like the idea of the €30 a man for 2 hours & 4 beers. Get a designated driver & you're sorted

Been to Golfvision and its great. Real prof setup with 3 playing areas. Its never going to be as good as the real thing, but on a wet winters day its very acceptable. The golf is realistic and best of all you get to play with your own clubs:D and depending on where the balls rests on the course you have to hit it of a number of different surfaces representing tee, fiarway , rough and sand................ so its not just like hitting off the mat that most ranges have.

Also the one thing i truly love about it is the driving range!!! U can measure the distance you hit each club in you bag to perfection. Including flight arc, fade n draw, it tells you so much info, from smash speen to club angle...... weigh distrubution in your stance! just about all the info you could possibly want and more. A regular out door range tells you very little:eek: most just hit a bucket of balls and learn nothing.

I dnt work for or have anything to do with the place! but would recommend everyone atleast try it once...... I garantee you will learn somthing about your game tht will help you improve( information is power)

I'd have to agree with Al.
Played in the winter league out there last year and really enjoyed it. Great to be able to keep swinging when is cold wet and dark outside :D

Best with more than one as you can play against each other which is good fun

No No No you can all calm down a little:eek: I am not announcing tht sombody has finnaly built an indoor course just yet.

What i am talking about is "golfvision" the indoor center in swords. I know its been mentioned on here b4, but since its been a while since i was over there and I managed to visit yesterday for a round.... on "Pebble beach":D.

Now I know its not the same as playing the real thing! but it was very enjoyable all the same. Considering how hard it is to get out at the moment with the short evenings and all tht fecking rain:eek: its the next best thing and allows me to keep playing regulary through the winter months.

We played a 2 ball and it took about 1hr 40 mins to play all 18 holes, we had a 10min warmup on the range b4 heading out:D. It can take a few holes to get the swing of things! You play your shots exactly same as you wud on a real course, we just found it a little hard to judge the short under 50yard chips onto the greens, but you work this out as you go along and after a few holes it seemed fine. I think the hardest part of the whole system was the putting, its very hard to get a read on the green (although the computer advice button gives you a verbal read if you choose to request it, which we did alot) and to judge the distance/ power required........ but you kinda get there in the end.......... but would say we lost a fair few strokes cause of the difficulty with putting:eek: Am sure our putting will be better next time.

Will defo be going again and was wondering if anyone else has been??? and wht they thought?

You can if you want! But the guy(Peter) who runs it will look:eek: at you funny!

I have no affiliation to the place nor do i work there!

I just think its a great place for the reasons i already stated, no harm in letting others know.

tried golfvision today, went to play luttrellstown today but gave up after 3 holes never been so cold and wet so went to golfvision instead:o
it was great craic u get a few mins warming up and the screen tells you how far u hit the ball with each club.they had two smaller mats for hitting out of sand and off the fairway,
found the putting very tough to get used to had 3 5putts:eek:
played st andrews took two and a half hours ands cost €35 ,would defo recommend it to anyone.
