Nighttime Noises

    :D
Whenever I go outside at nighttime, I can hear a kind of noise similar to a swift but much shorter (half a second maybe). Its definitely flying around and it can be heard at all hours of the night.
I have also heard it over the other side of Dublin at night also.
Does anyone know if it could be a bat or a bird?

I think the social calls of bats like the pipistrelle can be heard by us. I can sometimes hear bats when I see them or at least that's what I presume it is.

I've heard bats before but I didn't think this was their sound.
I also thought that they would be hibernating by now.
