Am I in trouble with Sky?

    Hi All,

Was still using the old blue Sky Card until I went on hols recently. Left the sky HD/plus box plugged in to record while I was away. It worked when I came home for a few hours - then I unplugged it so I could get some work done in the house (walls knocked etc).

The work took longer than anticipated, so I set up an old sky box in another room and inserted the Blue Sky Card.

It was only when I got a message that the card was not working did I realise that I had a new card sitting in the drawer (white card).

I inserted the white card - but it will not authorise.

Will it authorise itself when I put it back in the original Sky box, or will I have to call Sky?

What sort of rigmarole am I likely to encounter?

Is there a way to "force" the card to authorise?

    Paul

you will have to put it into your hd box.

    should work fine

(but you have to have the hd box on standby for 48 hrs before putting in the white card)

thats the info i got when my white card arrived..

No you have to have your HD box powered on for 24 hours not in standby. You can put it in standby when you are not watching TV. However the power must be left on.After 24 hours just put in the new card. The card comes with all information you need.

    Standby IS powered on.

what I was saying is the power has to be on to the box for ~24 /48 hrs. I'm not sure which.
(its on the instructions that come with the card)
and i'm sure on ch 998 or whatever channel sky are using to broadcast the instructions..
