What 32" ?

My current TV is an old bog standard 32" widescreen CRT TV. The picture is great, it weighs a ton and takes up half the living room!

I'm looking for a new 32" (maybe a 37") TV as my main TV. I have no brand loyalty and am fully open to ideas. My main issues are (a) it drives me absolutely crazy when I see a lot of motion blur on friends' lcd and plasma TVs e.g. during football matches or movies and (b) I have a max budget of €600 (€700 for a truly special TV).

I have heard that for a 32" TV it doesn't matter whether the TV is 720p, 1080i or 1080p - basically it's too small a screen to really tell the difference. Any suggestions?

If poor motion bothers you, I would avoid LCDs and go for plasma, whilst not perfect they are much better at motion, in my opinion of course.
A HD ready Panasonic 37" plasma could probably be got under your budget. Availability could be a problem but you could try.
    Good luck.

Thanks, I'll start checking shops. I presume with Christmas coming up there'll be some good offers as shops compete for the few customers around :)

Hello, I've been doing a lot of research over the last week for a 32" myself.

    I've narrowed it down to:

    1. Pansonic TX L37V10
    2. Panasonic TX L32G10 (looking like my winner at this stage)
    3. Samsung LE32B650

Unless you are a real 'techy' person and want to pay a lot more than €600ish, then these are good options: nice picture quality, good options on slots (USB, etc) and decent sound, but sound would be better if you plugged the LCD into a surround system.

Best prices are in D.I.D. and Power City - avoid everyone else.
