Does anybody know if it's possible to get ESPN for just one month?

Or is there a minimum term contract when you subscribe?

Also, when you subscribe, how long does it take to be activated? i.e. could you subscribe on the same day as a football match and be sure you get it?

When you subscribe it should be active within 30 mins.

I don't think there is a minimum term. But there is a €10 cancellation fee.

If you call Sky it will be on within 2 hours (usually minutes)

I think you will have to have it for 2 months. A months notice has to be given and you cannot downgrade for at least a month.

So if I subscribe today, I would need to call them to cancel on say the 8th December and I would stop getting a picture on the 9th January? Or is the loss of picture just as quick as the activation (i.e. straight after the call) even though you've paid for 2 full months?

I should probably assume an ESPN rep could answer this but I don't trust call centre staff as you will get a different answer each time you ring.

Since when is there a cancellation fee with Sky?

So official line from Sky CS is that it can take "up to 24 hours for some people" .. I presume this is just ass covering and in the real world it comes down a lot quicker...?

If I miss the match tonight after subscribing I will be... upset.

    ;)

It turned on for me in a few hours when I ordered it online. Some folks here said it came on within minutes when they called Sky.

I called sky and had it switched on within minutes.

Ask about a deal whereby you get it cheaper for the 1st month.
