He is very "meh" for me right now, but I thought he was great a few years ago, his stuff with MVP was super and he was consistently putting on good matches on SD, for **** sake he managed to make Masters look talented!
His earlier heel stuff was very good as well, and it allowed him to prove he had charisma and mic skills.

He was great as V1. Did some pretty high profile stuff with Rey Mysterio. I also thought he did a good job on ECW. His feud with Jeff didn't do anything for me though, and his current character is bland as hell.

got to agree with last two guys, V1 and his program with mvp on SD was very good, today watching paint dry is more entertaining than matt hardy

I really liked him as V1 and the facts about him on the way in.He always reminded me of Bret Hart for some reason,which is good for me:)

I loved him as V1. Great gimmick but wasn't pushed properly. I thought after he attacked Jeff earlier this year he should change his whole look when he turned heel. Cut his hair, change his tights (which he kind of did) and change his theme music to something a bit darker. I thought it was a missed opportunity to push him as something big at that time. Saying that I don't think he will ever win a world title and I cant picture him in that position, but he is a good mid carder where he can feud for the US/IC title.

I think he's one of those wreslters we all know has great potential, and has shown it when he's been given the chance, but too often is left with nothing to do on the sidelines.

Matt should pull a Christian and join TNA, maybe then WWE might appreciate they have what they've been leaving to waste.

I think his brother leaving kinda screwed him over recently, not that i think Matt is awesome or anything nor did Jeff intentionally do anything (it was WWE creative) and did actually put him over in their feud but he was about to be pushed as a Heel and had a new look and persona but then seemingly got called back to SD cos the WWE needed someone to fill Jeff's void when they realised he wouldent resign his contract. Taker wouldent be back yet and Mysterio was already in a program yet the WWE needed someone the fans would get behind so a week or two before Jeff left Matt turns up shakes his brothers hand and is suddenly face again and beaten by Punk, then he goes back to being nothing.

I could be remembering that completely wrong if im honest


im not even sure if the IWC (internet wrestling community i assume) does love Matt as you never hear folk going mad on here about him but the live audience sure do. If WWE booked just based on how big a pop wrestlers got, Matt would be a multiple time HW champion by now

I don't think the IWc does really love hardy anymore. there may have been a time a few years back, when he was very very entertaining as V1 when he was somewhat of a favourite of the smarks. but recently you don't really here that much opraise for him. At the end of the day Hardy is a good solid worker who is quite capable of having good matches with most people on TV every week. He popular enough that he can be used to feud with a newer worker and get him over by association and making the look good. But thats about it. He doesn't have that X factor that is little brother has that would ever elevate him to World Champ or main event level. Sad for him really as he was always more of a student of the game and seemed more dedicated to it than Jeff.

I think the Hardy-Hardy match at mania was great, He is terribly boring since then though, He just looks terrible atm too.That abdomen injury was the worst thing that has happened to his wrestling this year.Hes building that BCR Dome thing too so is probably doing a Carlito and not giving a fcuk.

Easily the best summation of Matt on here. I think the IWC highly valued him back in the early noughties, when alot of people saw Jeff as overrated, and sympathised more with Matt. But in ROH he was really exposed as a punch-kick guy, and since then, he's done nothing but confirm he's a massive mark for the WWE.

V1 was a great gimmick though, but not being pushed then, or even harder than he was in 2005 upon his return, confirms just how little Vince sees in him as an attraction in his own right.
He's definitely a great hand though- a really talented guy, and realistically he should be employed by Vince for life. But he just doesn't have "It", and isn't someone I'd like to see headline.

Was Matts V1 lost in the WWE mix like Jericho's persona was lost in WCW?

Back then Matt was in great condition and i really think if his body was 5 years younger he would be flying up the WWE ladder rather than tipping over the scales.......

Yeah sort of... they liked to feature him on TV alot, but wouldn't commit to pushing him and allowing him a big win over top Babyfaces, so he ended up as a kinda comedy heel and didn't look competitive against anyone near the top of the card.
