Which starter bike?

    I'm just taking up cycling thanks to a cycle to work scheme and need advice on what bike to get. Budget for the bike is about 700 or 800 euros and at the moment I'm thinking either:
    1) Specialized Allez
    2) Specialized Allez Sport
    3) Specialized Secteur
    4) Giant Defy 3
    5) Giant Defy 3.5
    6) Giant Defy 4

    Anybody know anything about these bikes? All advice welcome!
