What music motivates you?

Hi!
I know I probably shouldn't, (for safety reasons!) but I enjoy listening to my ipod when cycling on quieter, country roads and up hills. I like to listen to music to get me going and find that if a track has a good drum beat/riff you can pedal hard to it!
I am a child of the Grunge early 90's era, so Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins & Stone Temple Pilots are all on the ipod.
At the moment I am listening to Pearl Jam's new album Backspacer and rockin to it as I cycle along. 'Got Some', gets be blasting along on the pedals!

So what music gets you pumping down on those pedals?

If I were a better cyclist with a better cadence, I of course would be all about the Slayer.

I used to like cycling at night to Red Sparowes and Pelican. I must do it again.

Edit: It's long drawn out instrumental rock/metal. So don't be waiting for any singing or chorus.

I liked the first Pelican album but they kind of lost me after that...pretty dull live as well. Give me Isis (or indeed Neurosis) any day

If I wake up and don't really feel like going out but know I need to it's the Rocky Overture

The music from this video, the first and last tunes, I think of when I'm about to attack a hill, or just need a bit of euro to pick me up. Another one to get me up hills is Will you follow me by Rob Dougan. Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins gets me going also.

And when I need to calm down while descending I think of Kaleidoscope of Mathematics from A Beautiful Mind soundtrack.

And if ever there's a camera around this is what you need to think of while thinking you look like this.

Best piece of motivational music i ever came across is Harold Faltermeyers theme from Top Gun http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SIleXsOl2I.. Channel 4 or RTE used it as Roche catches up to Delgado in the 1987 Tour de France at La Plagne. One of cyclings greatest montages.. Great to pound the pedals to on the slopes.
