I was browsing through the Apple site looking for an internet radio widget that would - with a bit of cut and pasting plus some presets - put all my radio stations in the one place.

One of them looked particularly slick - a widget called WRadio. I soon learned what the 'W' stood for. Most of the stations I selected (only a small proportion of the overall stations available) failed to stream. Each time you started using the WR widget a 120 second clock started ticking down. If you were lucky, you'd spend 110 seconds finding a station that worked and would get 10 seconds of streamed radio. Deep joy.

I could revert back to the tried-and-tested route of selecting from the stations in iTunes, but it's a bit cumbersome. Anyone know of a radio widget worth its name?

RadioTuner is what I used to use. Works okay with Windows media streams. (Don't waste your time with Realplayer streams.) The developer has abandoned it though so I'm not sure if it's compatible with 10.6.

Yeah, I use the Dashboard all the time. It's very handy to have quick access to the dictionary, calendar, calculator, weather, currency convertor, etc. I use mostly just the standard Apple widgets though. I haven't found many useful 3rd party widgets - with the exception of iStat pro, which is invaluable.

Duck Soup, not a widget, but have you tried Delicast.

    Main site: http://delicast.com/

    Ireland specific: http://delicast.com/radio/Ireland
