Ok, I know will get a better deal if I cancel my current sky account and look for a new one in new house (have done in the past).

However, the new house is about 50yards from where I am now and in the country so its the same name and address and bank account. Telephone number will be different though.

Will I get away with using name/address/account but different telephone number OR should I get my wife to sign up (using the same address and bank account) and will this work?

Use the wifes name, once its a different name and telephone number its no problem. You can use the same bank account as well.
I've seen this done numerous times so off you go and enjoy your new Sky+ or Sky HD whichever you choose and make sure you keep your old Sky box so you can put it in another room if you want and pick up the FTA stations on it
