Is it possible to connect an FM radio to the coax in, to receive fm channels via upc?

There should be an FM port on the wall box, this is intended to be connected to a radio tuner (either a hi-fi separate or can be integrated in the amp) via co-ax cable. However although UPC give you a separate port for FM radio, they seem to be remarkably shy about publishing the frequencies. Several years ago I phoned them to ask for the frequencies and they fax'ed them to me despite me asking them to just put them up on their website. A couple of weeks ago after resuming my account after a few years, I sent them an e-mail again asking for the complete list of frequencies and got only a partial list, they still for some bizarre reason refuse to put the list on the website.

A lady actually phoned me on Saturday afternoon (how's that for service and she was Irish!) and told me I could get the radio stations on 'digital' through the TV but when I told her that switching on a 42" TV to listen to radio was a silly waste of energy and anyway the sound quality was awful compared to my RDS tuner, she said she'd e-mail them to me, here is what I got...

as per our discussion today. Here is a list of the radio frequency.Just to advise that these are the only ones avail on the basic line up.

    RTE Radio 1 89.4 Mhz
    2FM 91.7 Mhz
    RnaG 93.9 Mhz
    Lyric FM 97.5 Mhz
    FM 104 104.6 Mhz
    BBC Radio 2 90.1 Mhz
    BBC Radio 3 92.3 Mhz
BBC Radio Live 5 95.1 Mhz
    BBC World Service 97.1 Mhz
    Classic FM 101.9 Mhz
    BBC Radio Ulster 94.5 Mhz
    World Radio Network 102.7 Mhz

    Here's my reply...

Thanks but there are several stations missing from that list - 98FM is on your FM service at 99.0 Mhz and I can also receive Newstalk, Today FM plus BBC Radio 1 and 4 so that list is not complete.

As I said in our phone conversation - surely you could put these frequencies up on the website? I asked for the list of frequencies about 10 years ago and they fax'ed them to me, nothing seems to have changed in the interim.

I have a UPC wall box which was installed only a couple of months ago, If you go to the trouble of giving customers separate TV and FM outlets then I can't understand why you don't publish the FM radio frequencies, the sound quality from the 'digital' radio stations on the TV is nowhere near as good as I can get when I feed the FM cable into my amp which incorporates an RDS radio tuner so I am not interested in listening to radio through the digital decoder.

As I mentioned in another post, FM on analogue is a legacy service that I don't think UPC have any interest in one way or the other.

Would point out that you don't need to switch on your TV to listen to radio on their digital service. You can just put the audio straight out to your stereo bypassing your TV.
