PS3 Christmas/Sales

I want to buy a PS3 around Christmas time and I'm wondering if it's best to buy it before the big day or in the sales after.

Are there usually good bundles in the sales, or will all the good stuff just be sold out by then? Are there ususally reduced price games?

I will probably also pick up a cheapy hdtv to go with it. Am I right that the sales are definitely my best bet there?

Any experiences either way would be appreciated.

Consoles don't really fluctuate in price like that.

I can't imagine post Xmas bundles for the New Year Sales either.

Prices aren't really going to change until the next Sony price drop (ages away) so just find a bundle you like.

Agree, you are unlikely to find Consoles in any Post Xmas so there isn't much point waiting. The TV is a different matter though, The likes of Harvey Norman will almost certainly have big sales in the new year. Although the way things are at the moment they may well have big sales before xmas too.

Playstations don't really go out of date as such, nor will a new upgraded model be out any time soon; therefore there won't be any reason for shops to try and shift the stock in January; thus! no discounts in sales.

Can be an OK time to get games and peripherals though.

    Thanks for the replies.

I guess I'll get the Playstation as soon as I have the pennies saved up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a seriously cut price telly in the sales though!
