    Hi,

My three year old MacBook Pro (running on Snow Leopard) stopped booting recently.

After the start sound the machine tries to boot, but it's stuck in the mode of a light grey screen and there are uncommon pling-noises coming from the hard-drive.

I'm now looking for a place or someone to repair it. Can anybody help me?

    Best regards,
    kaemncie

Hard drive has died by the sounds of it...From what you've mentioned it's probably the click of death.

You could easily replace the hard disk yourself,But if you don't want to any computer repair place will do it,Should take no longer than an hour to have your mac up and running assuming you have all the operating systems disks..

Hopefully you've got a back up of your important data as chances are it'll be gone now...You could possibly pay(A LOT!!) to recover the data,But unless it's very important I wouldn't recommend that route..

I'm not up to date on macs,But if it's a 2.5" sata drive you could buy an external hard drive house for it and you might be able to access the data..
