Sky hd upgrade - new dish?

    Hi all,

I have just registered for Sky+ HD upgrade today. I currently have standard Sky installation (no Sky+).
Will the installer install a new dish with the upgrade or will they just use the existing dish? I wouldn't mind getting the dish replaced as it is very rusty :)

    Many thanks for any info.

    Charles.

Yep, I'm still using the dish I had when I had standard Sky.

When I got HD they ran a second cable down, as you need two cables going from the dish into the Sky box ( I think so that you can watch one channel while recording another ). In fact, he actually got rid of the original cable and ran a 'double cable' down, so that he wouldn't have to drill a new hole in my wall.

He ran the shot gun cable...double cable...useless in my opinion too easily broken as its too thin...

They just used my exising dish, which seems to be in good condition. I'm not sure if they bring a replacement dish for upgrades.

    Thanks for the replies.
Does anyone know if they installer would put in a new dish for me?
Would I have to pay more for it?

    Charles.
