    hi folks,

    here's my situation.

    i have a credit card with an irish bank - no problems with the card, however it did expire in Sept this year. Bank issued new card, exact same number as the old card but with new expirey date (2013) and 3 digit security code on the back.

    i've tried to buy tickets on ticketmaster and tried to use it on other websites but keep getting the same old response along the lines of;

    'card has expired unable to make purchase'

    i click on add card, enter details as per normal and again get the response

    'this card has expired' - headwrecking stuff. tried ringing customer service but fully automated and cannot get to speak to a human being.

    what can i do?

    Either call the Bank or walk in and tell them you lost the card and they will issue a new one with a new number etc.

    A lot of credit cards need to be activated before you can use it. This often involves either using it in a PIN transaction in a shop, or ringing the bank to confirm you have received the new one. Is your card activated?

    yes it's activated as i've used it on other websites to carry out transactions without a hitch.

    it must be a ticketamster issue - but customer service there is poor to say the least.

    i'll try emailing them to see what they say.

    thanks.

    Some sites may have stored your credit card details in your profile. Update your profile, and make sure it has the new details.

    Is there a mention of the 3 digit security code? That would have changed along with the expiry date.

    Moved to Banking & Insurance & Pensions

    As other posters have said, Ticketmaster store credit card details (if you let them) in order to speed up transactions. If this is the case for you, go to your profile and update or delete/reenter the card details.

    If their customer service is not good, their ticket purchasing line might be better. Most companies will have better resources on their sales line than their support line.

    This is more a problem with Ticketmaster than the card it seems - I'll send this to Online Buying/Auctions.
