Amp caps

I changed out the coupling and tone caps in my amp for Ampohm paper in oil and paper in wax caps (respectively). Very nice. It stays sweet no matter what way I set the eq. The caps aren't even close to being burned in yet either, so this is presumably something that will get even better with time.

Relatively speaking they were expensive (I ordered them from Hi-fi Collective in the UK), but for less than 60 Euros if you could get a pedal that improved the sound so significantly and fundamentally nobody would think twice.

I felt the coupling caps made the most difference but the paper in wax caps for the eq circuit instantly made the eq more usable (There had been orange drops in there). The coupling caps filled and smoothed out the overall sound as I heard it (I took little breaks in between to listen to the changes).

It's sort of a Blackface Fender. Homebuild (not by me), 2 x 6l6. The coupling caps were previously polypropylene (WIMA MKP 10s) and the tone controls were orange drops.
