    Hiya,
my doorbell has stopped working. Problem seems to be the box inside the front door. I have a replacement box. There are two wires (black & white)sticking out of wall where old box was attached.
Do I just attach each wire to each screw in the new box?
Do I need to turn the power off?
Sorry I am totally useless with these sorts of things
(No instructions with new box and a friend took the old box off the wall)
    Thanks

There is usually no need to turn the power off when changing a bell sounder as its very low voltage but you can never be too safe! Its basically a straight swap with the wires and if the screws holding up the old sounder match the new one. If not, your going to have to drill new holes if wall is concrete or 'plasterboard fixings' and screws if its a plasterboard wall!
