LL beers? Well it would be my duty as a mod to go. :D

*edit* what about a cocktail night for a nice change. I fancy something with a parasol in it.

    Ok.
    Two things to get sorted ;

    A) Venue

    and

    B) Date

... So throw your suggestions out there and we'll hopefully come up with something :)

cocktails = capitol, they nice and cheap at 4.95 until 11 or 12 not sure which or maybe it's all night.

it was a regular for me in final year of college, it's got comfy couches, music isn't too loud (not that i'm old) so nice to be able to converse with everyone without having to say "i'm sorry" or "what?".

plus if this TLL beers is held there, it's literally a 2 minute walk for me from work so i'll attend.

Random question: Does it always have to be an alcohol-themed thing? That would always rule me (and presumably more than me) out of ever going. That environment does nothing for me, I'm afraid!

I'm definitely going to this beers, so bearing that in mind, it can't be this or next weekend :D

I'm voting for the weekend of the 22nd. Assuming that 1. I haven't gambled my house away in Vegas (have I mentioned I'm going to Vegas :p) and 2. I don't have jet lag (from the flight home from vegas :pac:)

Weekend of the 22nd sounds like a good startpoint anyway.

And I'm a lumbar jack and I'm ok....... (ooops, trouble ahead......)
On that note- think I'll put a bottle in the fridge for the weekend- the wife hates the smell of beer at the moment. Thankfully, the sweet smell of whiskey is still ok......... Ahhh sod it, I think a nice single malt before bed sounds good...... Mmmm.......

I thought Capitol went into receivership there a few weeks ago (along with Cafe Insane, the George and a few others)?

    Oh, not at all.
If you're up for organising something that doesn't involve alcohol, go for it!
It's just the easy option, choosing a bar and having a night out!

Having said that, even with alcohol, we're a nice bunch and you're more than welcome to join!

You know, I read that as "something with a panadol in it." For one brief moment I had sheer mortification that the mod of tLL made a joke about putting pills in drinks...

Well that's decided then. 22nd in Capitol.

Seems to suit most people who've posted so far.

Just out of fairness, does anyone have any other suggestions of places to have the meet up - or potential dates?

We can ask Wibbs the Panadol man to make us a poll then!
    :D

I can't do the 21st. Bill Bailey's on The Olympia!

Although, I don't object to this being the chosen date if it suits most people :)

If you don't offer suggestions, it won't have a chance of happening!

If only it was last year. I was always up in Dublin last year as my boyfriend at the time was living up there for college, was living in town and all! But now he also lives in Cork and we are broken up..grr.

Not always, long time back (like a year ago!) I organised a few movie nights in Cineworld. Small group came but it was good craic, I think we actually went to see the Batman with Heath Ledger in it on of the nights (NYOM NYOM:p).

Hmm I may have to do this again soon so if there was an interest!
Like you say the pub isn't for everyone. :)

But Capitol is great for champagne cocktails (5'er brfore 12!) and goldschlager! :D:D:D

Great well after the beers meet I'll set up a thread and poll for a cinema meet! Two together will be to much! :)

Tbh its good for the shy people who want to come along to meets, you can chat and meet people then sit back and relax with them for the movie, then thoughts on the movie makes the conversation flow easier afterwards too!

Ok I said I was gettin off the interweb ages ago for an early night, opps time flies! :( Night all...

So what's the consensus here? life has changed a bit recently and I'm fighting on the 21st but then that's my last for ages, so I've been planning on a LOT of drinking.

Pika: Can you update the first post with suggested dates or whatever? I'm too lazy to go through the whole thread repeatedly. :D
