    Hi All

What is your opinion on Smurfit, im considering a purchase of approx 500 shares tomorrow based on davy saying the following

"We believe that the stock represents compelling value at current levels and reiterate our 1000c price target and 'outperform' rating."

    Well what do you think?

To be fair I wouldn't base it on that alone. However, I own a couple of hundred too and got in at €4.00, tracked it from €1.60. I think it looks good, you are basically making a play on manufacturing / advertising picking up in Europe, so if you beleive that will happen go for it.

I reckon you'll be fine on this one. Large cap, big player, stable medium term indebtedness and all that

yeah i lost about 150 on spread betting the shares

Dont really understand it espically since Davy's still have it as "outperforming" and have set a target price of €10

Davy havent a clue what they are on about most of the time. They advocate a buy on almost every Irish company. Why do you think this is? Serious vested interests between the certain Irish bank/brokers and heads of companies.

These guys had a buy recommendation on every Irish bank as they slid steadily into the abyss. Not to mention the fact that Davy is a highly-levered business with a business model that may not be able to survive. But that's another story for another day.

Short version : do your own research and don't rely on the likes of Davy etc.
