The Bible or the Chronicles of Narnia?

In many ways the tales of C.S. Lewis intentionally mirror key events in the Bible. The Magicians Nephew is analogous to Genesis. The Lion,The Witch and the Wardrobe is a fantastical retelling of the persecution of the Jews during the time of Jesus, and Christs crucifixion and subsequent resurrection. Finally, The Last Battle is based on Revelation,Armageddon and Lewis even attempts to describe heaven itself.
Which do you feel is the most endearing and, more importantly, most moralistic?

Have moved this from A&A, Xluna, as it seems more at home here.

Mods - do what you will. :)

I found his Space Trilogy (Out of the Silent Planet, Voyage to Venus, and That Hideous Strength) to be much more thought provoking in terms or morality.

Haven't you answered your own question?

Considering I was asking for your subjective opinions-no...

Well given that the Chronicles of Narnia are as you said intentionally mirrored the Bible, and you are asking this on a Christian forum, do you really expect any Christian to proclaim the Chronicles more endearing or moralistic than the Bible itself?

To be fair it was originally posted in the A&A forum and then tossed over the fence by Dades. :)

I have never read the C of N. My OH does and finds them good, so there must be something to it. Apparently Aslan is her hero ;). Personally I prefer the spiritual aspect of Star Wars :D As for CS Lewis I do recommend "Suprised by Joy" though, should be compulsory reading over in A&A.

I think he is asking which book of Lewis' books mirrored on the Bible is more endearing or moralistic, rather than which is more endearing his books or the Bible.

That is how I read it anyways :pac:

I dunno, he previously posted a thread in A&A with a similar title and comparing the Bible with The Lord of the Rings (written, of course, by CS Lewis' Catholic drinking buddy).

Just for lack of moral ambiguity and internal consistency, Narnia wins hands down.

So did I, considering the first few words are "In many ways, the tales of C.S. Lewis." This makes it seem as though that is the main focus. Also, the question, "which do you feel is.." doesn't seem to refer to the Bible when reading "tales of C.S. Lewis," unless you take "tales of C.S. Lewis" to be one collection, then put that vs the Bible. :pac:

Seeing as how the thread title is "The Bible or...", I thought that was the choice. Apologies if mistaken.

You win. I read the OP, but forgot about the thread title. I think I am mistaken. ;)

If so, it is an extremely pointless question in the OP, which is why I hoped to think otherwise.

    5. Arguments such as "There is no God, therefore..." or "The Bible is full of contradictions, therefore..." will not be tolerated. Don't start off with a conclusion which your audience is bound to disagree with!
