    I think not. The CD player on the bottom is actually the whole stereo system. The display up top is just the display.
    I'd love to be wrong though.
    I got an xcarlink, and that handles my audio in needs.

    05 would be the face lift but it may not have seperate cd player

    I am pretty sure that you can. You would need to get a blanking plate as the slot would be bigger than your system. Also you would probably lose the readout on the cars display but will still have your radio display obviously. The stereo controls on the steering wheel will, most likely, not work either.

    I think the problem is that the climate control buttons are integrated into the stereo unit.

    You might be able to retro fit it below where the cd tray is but I'm not sure really.
