    Hi All
I'm having the devils own time trying to install Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron 6400
Went to installation procedure no problem.
The in the "Installing Windows" page it first completed "Copying Windows Files..." no problem
Then it started on the "Expanding Windows Files.." task and after a while it threw an error saying:
"Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation.
    Error code 0x80070017"
Has anybody else hit this problem?

I'm probably my machine, just wondering if anyone knows what the error means.
Its a legit copy so I doubt files are missing

    Cheers

    HB

Are you installing it from a DVD or from the contents of an ISO file you downloaded?
